At Dance Junction, we follow the official UCWDC Country Couples syllabus, offering a structured and supportive space to learn everything from smooth glides to high-energy spins. Whether you're a casual dancer looking for fun or aiming for competition, our classes take you through clearly defined levels — from Newcomer to Novice, Intermediate, and Advanced, with elite tracks like Crown and SuperStar for serious competitors. These partner dances focus on lead-and-follow technique, timing, floorcraft, and musicality — all taught in a friendly, social setting. You don’t need to bring a partner — we rotate in class, and everyone’s welcome.

For those looking to compete, we offer structured training aligned with the UCWDC Line Dance syllabus, focusing on technique, musicality, styling, and performance. Dancers progress through official UCWDC divisions, with regular feedback and opportunities to compete locally and nationally. To qualify for the South African Classic Championship, students must participate in at least one Regional Series event during the year. Whether you’re dancing for joy or chasing the podium, we’ll help you find your rhythm — and stand out in style.

Divisions include:

Starter – A gentle introduction for new adult competitors transitioning from social to structured routines. Emphasis on clear basics, comfort on the floor, and confidence-building.

Newcomer – The first formal competitive level where dancers begin learning official choreography with structured steps, posture, and floor awareness.

Novice – Dancers build on fundamentals with more complex sequences, directional changes, and early styling. Musicality and performance presence start to develop here.

Intermediate – Focuses on refining technique, control, and consistency. Dancers improve their phrasing, timing, and quality of movement across various rhythms.
